With Black Friday and Cyber Monday just around the corner, retailers are busy prepping to have a huge surge of sales. But what are people actually shopping for online? We surveyed nearly 1,500 consumers and while our full report with more data won’t be released until the new year, we wanted to share some key findings as we head into the biggest shopping season of the year.
Of the people we surveyed, more than one-third (35%) shop online at least a few times a week. So what are they buying most often? It turns out the top three products shoppers are buying online most often is clothing/shoes/accessories (80%), electronics (80%), and appliances/home goods (40%).
When it comes to more expensive ‘big ticket’ items, the top three products shoppers splurge on online are electronics (67%), furniture (34%), and appliances (28%). But shopping online still isn’t as frictionless as consumers would like. Shoppers cite shipping expenses as the biggest frustration of online shopping (85%).
